Introducing the Dukes Palace, the only 5 star hotel in Bruges, and the lovely boutique hotel, Pand Hotel

I have just returned from 2 days meeting our suppliers in Bruges – a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year and usually less wet and horrible than here, always perfect for a canal trip and hours of sight-seeing with a bag of frites or chocolates along the way.

Bruges

The city is endlessly fascinating and before the meetings, we took a walking tour with Jean-Pierre Drubbel of the Bruges City Film Office that took in the sights of the film “In Bruges” and also the town hall with its amazing artwork. Plus, in keeping with one of the great themes of Belgium, we stopped by at the famous “Wall of Beer” with 700 or so examples, although only to look!

More exciting for me though, was the chance to sell 2 more top hotels through Great Escapes.

The Dukes Palace

Let me introduce you to the beautiful Dukes’ Palace, the only 5 star hotel in Bruges. Built in the 15th century, this stunning hotel is just around the corner from the Markt Square, in a quiet little side street and offers the perfect combination of historical charm and contemporary luxury.

The Pand Hotel

We’re also delighted to be able to offer the Pand Hotel, a high-class boutique establishment with outstanding service and décor, using original materials in its rooms from the likes of and Lauren and Burberry. This 18th century mansion is also in a wonderful location, close to Markt Square and Bruges’ pretty canals.

They both promise to be great additions to the programme.

  1. These look lovely Jon! The Dukes Palace looks very romantic and I rather like the quirkiness of the Pand Hotel.

  2. Wow both look fantastic. Think I’m in need of a short break!
